Regional Councillor Jane Mitchell
Jane Mitchell has been elected as a Regional Councillor for almost 10 years. She is also
presently the first vice-chair of the Grand River Conservation Authority. From 1990 to
2000 she was a trustee on the Waterloo Region District School Board. Twenty Five years
ago, she founded the Waterloo Infant Toddler Daycare and was its first president. She is
partner in the company, Arachneweb Consulting and Design and an award winning writer.
She has won the Girl Guide Silver Thanks Pin and been nominated as an Oktoberfest Woman of the Year
in the Community Service Catagory. She is an Honourary Member of Renison College and has received a
City of Waterloo Volunteer Pin. She initiated the first Women’s Municipal Campaign School in Waterloo
Region in 2005.
